A Maryland Family...
I was very fortunate to meet this lovely couple this week. They reside in the LaurelBrooke community in Franklin, TN. At the first moment of speaking to Kay, I knew our photo session was going to be a very interesting meeting and photo shoot. John and Kay have lived here in middle TN for a few years. Being from Maryland, after raising their family, they decided to follow their children to middle TN. Me, being born and raised a middle Tennessean and being a country girl by birth, I think they picked a fabulous place to live.... I may be just a little bit bias though. :)
John and Kay's home is immaculate to say the very least... adorned with fantastic art work from many well-known artists, ornate pieces (lamps, folk art, hometown creations) from all over the world, to their grandchildren's artwork... Kay mentioned to me her children's art to be the most valuable! "I absolutely LOVED that, I true mother and grandmother's heart!" Kay is an art major, obviously to me, but her wonderful husband of fifty-five years made it a point to tell me this attribute about his bride... I do believe he is a little bit proud of her! :)
It was so interesting talking to these two, what a life they both have lead. I think I could have stayed all day just listening to their amazing stories about their lives and art pieces!
John was a printer and publisher of many millions of books over his career in his industry. So fascinating! When they moved to middle TN, they down sized their library considerably... a library of books is always so warm and welcoming in someone's home to me. I sure hope our future generations keep building libraries in their homes!
Kay and John, Thank you for your warm welcome into your home and it was a pure pleasure to meet and photograph you both! I hope we can do it again in the future... maybe with your entire family next time! What a memorable piece of art that would be for your beautiful home and family! :)
Sealed with a kiss! :)
